This perennial is a must for butterfly gardens. Caterpillars use this plant as a source of food usually in Fall. Once fed they will travel to other plants in your garden to cocoon and return to the flowers as butterflies. Golden yellow bells appear in mid Spring and continue until late Fall. Flowers will create a cotton seed pod that can blow seed into other areas in the garden. Avoid re-seeding by removing seed pods before they open. Attracts Butterflies and Hummingbirds. Drought tolerant once established. Prune hard in late Fall.
