This spiny beaver tail cactus is a great addition to drought tolerant, hillside or xeriscape gardens. Full sun to half day sun is ideal with well drained soil. Blue green ovate pads bear white hair like thorns year round. Medium sized magenta yellow flowers appear in Spring attracting bees, butterflies and birds. Drought tolerant, be sure not to over water in Winter. Frost hardy and fire resistant. Good for large container gardens.
