This unusual prickly pear cactus is a great addition to drought tolerant, hillside and xeroscape gardens. Full sun to half day sun is ideal with well drained soil. Green, waved shaped pads bear yellow, tiny hair like thorns. Large orange flowers appear in Spring thru the Summer attracting bees, butterflies and birds. Drought tolerant, be sure not to over water in Winter. Frost hardy and fire resistant. This particular Opuntia is not recommended for plantings near walkways or sidewalks.
